Many customers use the ARP-SMS CL commands for sending alerts from their applications by sending an SMS text message to a phone number or to a list of phone numbers.  The ARP-SMS command set also includes support for short codes making it possible to be used for SMS marketing.   Its support for receiving and processing text messages makes it possible to use ARP-SMS in ways such as responding to messages in QSYSOPR from a smartphone.  The solution includes ARP-MAIL also making it possible to handle inbound messages and replies to your IBM i by sending the inbound messages as an email to lists of users such as customer service reps.
